Former UPN exec Patrick Moran has joined 20th Century Fox TV as the studio’s VP of drama development.

Moran will work closely with scribes to create projects for the studio. He reports directly to drama development senior VP Jennifer Nicholson Salke.

“We have worked selling projects to Patrick over the past few seasons and have always been impressed with his abilities,” Nicholson Salke said. “He has great relationships around town, as well as with my team here at 20th, so it’s a good thing all around.”

Moran will also work closely with 20th’s Jane Leisner, who continues as the department’s other VP of drama development.

The exec previously served as VP of drama development at UPN, where he handled the short-lived but well reviewed hip-hop themed drama “Platinum,” as well as the upcoming entry “Jake 2.0.”

Moran also helped develop the revived “Twilight Zone,” as well as “Stephen King’s The Dead Zone,” which later wound up at USA Network.

The exec’s UPN charge also included handling dramas such as “Enterprise” and 20th entries “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Roswell.”

Moran’s other credits include serving as president of Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Renaissance Pictures Television, where he worked on “Xena: Warrior Princess” and “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.”
