Exec adds his vision to Movision

Andrews heads existing slate, new projects

LONDON — Joshua Andrews has joined the prolific tax fund Movision Entertainment as a production consultant.

Andrews, formerly head of production at Odyssey Entertainment and a sales exec at Icon Entertainment Intl., will be responsible for Movision’s existing slate and for finding new projects.

He’s also director of production for Double A Films, the production company of his father, actor Anthony Andrews. He will continue in that role, co-producing some of Double A’s current slate with Movision.

Over the past 12 months, Movision has financed seven movies with a combined budget of $100 million in partnership with production outfit Spice Factory.

These include “Bridge of San Luis Rey,” starring Robert De Niro; “A Different Loyalty,” with Sharon Stone; and “Head in the Clouds,” starring Penelope Cruz. Company is currently prepping “The Merchant of Venice” with Al Pacino.

“We are delighted to be working with Joshua Andrews,” said Michael Cowan, joint managing director of Spice Factory, and Peter James, joint managing director of Movision. “His creative and financial experience combined with a real understanding of this business compliments us perfectly.”

In a separate arrangement, Andrews will continue to act as the London rep of Rome’s Cinecitta Studios.
