Martin Scorsese has signed with Endeavor, joining the agency’s extensive list of directors. Scorsese, repped by Rick Yorn at the Firm, hasn’t had an agent since exiting CAA five years ago.
When Scorsese began meeting with agencies several weeks ago (Daily Variety, May 9), every percentery lined up to woo the helmer of “Mean Streets,” “Raging Bull,” “Goodfellas” and “Gangs of New York,” for which he received an Oscar nom.
Scorsese chose Endeavor before heading off to Montreal to begin rehearsals on the Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer “The Aviator.”
The reason given by sources close to the situation is that he liked Endeavor’s filmmaker list. The list includes Paul Thomas Anderson, David O. Russell, Fernando Meirelles (“City of God”), Kimberly Peirce, Walter Salles, Alexander Payne, Alfonso Cuaron, Phillip Noyce, McG, Gore Verbinski, John Woo, Jon Turteltaub, Terry Gilliam and Brad Silberling.
