The evening’s Playbill carried an unusual insert listing four more producer credits than the original.
“They came on after we got those nine Outer Critic Circle nominations,” explained lead producer Jeffrey Richards. The new quartet means the difference between the show’s minimum $1.8 million cap and its newly expanded one of $2.2 million.
Richards credited Ringwald with jump-starting the project. “Molly was the first actor to sign on,” he revealed.
