Comedy’s big guns poked fun at the little people in their lives — aka their children — during Wednesday night’s fundraiser honoring HBO programming topper Chris Albrecht.
Jerry Seinfeld, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and Red Buttons were among those headlining the benefit for Rob and Michele Reiner‘s I Am Your Child Foundation at Hollywood & Highland’s Annex.
“Having a 2-year-old is like having a blender that you don’t have the top for,” Seinfeld kibbitzed about life with his daughter. “It works, but it’s a little messy.”
“One great joy as a parent was having my kids sit on my lap and watch the same Disney movies that I watched as a child. Except this time, I got to smell their hair and kiss their head,” Albrecht said.
Turning out to support best friend Reiner’s charity, Albert Brooks quipped, “I live so vicariously through my son, I actually wear his clothes.”
Buttons turned the evening’s PG laff rating to an R when he began roasting Reiner, Friars style, much to the dismay of the crowd.
“Rob envisions a world where every child’s brain will grow, develop freely; unfettered like the tattoos on Cher’s tuchis,” Buttons quipped.
The aud included Dustin Hoffman, Larry David, Ron Meyer, Alan Horn, Brad Grey, George Shapiro, Norman Lear and Talia Shire with son Jason Schwartzman.
