Claire Forlani will join Barry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson in Roger Spottiswoode’s feature “White on White,” based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel “Ripley Under Ground.”
Alan Cumming is in negotiations to come aboard the feature, which begins lensing in England in late June.
“Ripley Under Ground” is the second novel in Highsmith’s multibook series centering on sociopath Tom Ripley (“The Tal-ented Mr. Ripley”). Blake Herron adapted the book for the screen; film version is set in the contemporary art world of London.
German film fund Cinerenta is producing and financing the film. Marco Mehlitz is producing with Michael O’Hoven, William Vince, Steve Ujlaki and Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre.
Forlani, who starred in FX drama “The Pentagon Papers,” next stars in Paramount Classics’ “Northfork.”
