Berney, P&F team up on marketing shingle

Agency to combine publicity, branding with promotions

Jeanne Berney and P&F Communications have formed P&F Communications/the Berney Group, a full-service public relations, promotions and marketing agency.

Berney, who was most recently exec VP of film and digital entertainment for Rogers & Cowan, joins as partner with P&F’s Barbara Pflughaupt and Raymond Forsythe.

The agency will combine Berney’s background in publicity and branding with Forsythe’s 15 years in the film promotions business.

Berney spearheaded the national publicity campaign for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” as well as “Enigma,” “Real Women Have Curves” and “Whale Rider.” She also represented film companies such as Intermedia, Franchise, IFC Prods., Revere Pictures and Ovation Entertainment.

Prior to her tenure at Rogers & Cowan, she served as senior director of publicity, promotions and field operations for Rysher Entertainment and Savoy Pictures and as director of publicity for Miramax Films.

She and Forsythe have worked together on various projects for over 10 years.

Forsythe has worked on promotional campaigns with virtually every independent distributor.

Since 1989, Pflughaupt has managed P&F’s work as national press rep and strategic consultant for Feld Entertainment. This includes the touring units of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey as well as its Center for Elephant Conservation.

Pflughaupt also manages the agency’s publicity campaigns for New Line Home Entertainment’s DVD and VHS releases of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.”
