Bertelsmann executive board member Arnold Bahlmann, head of the recently divested publishing unit BertelsmannSpringer, will leave the company at the end of June.
Bahlmann has been with Bertelsmann since 1982, originally as head of corporate development of the company’s music activi-ties. Following the merger of RCA and Ariola, he was senior VP of operations at BMG in New York. After 1997, he was in charge of the joint digital TV activities of Bertelsmann and Kirch Group, and a driver behind Bertelsmann’s exit from pay TV.
In 2001, he took over at the newly founded Bertelsmann Capital, until the unit’s dissolution in August 2002 after the exit of Thomas Middelhoff.
