Twentieth Television will launch the syndicated strip “Ambush Makeover” this month on several yet-to-be-determined Fox O&Os.
Banyan Prods. will produce the series in association with Twentieth TV. Shingle’s current shows include TLC’s “Trading Spaces” and “A Wedding Story.”
“Makeover” marks Banyan’s first foray into the syndie market.
Fox TV stations are still mulling over which outlets will pick up “Ambush,” but plan to make an announcement this week. Twentieth unleashed courtroom drama strip “Texas Justice” and frosh talker “Good Day Live” in the same regional rollout fashion.
Half-hour skein pairs everyday folk with celebrity stylists for surprise makeovers. Staff stylists include GQ’s West Coast style editor Mary Alice Haney and former Cosmopolitan fashion editor Nancy Brensson.
“On ‘Ambush Makeover,’ our team of famous celebrity stylists will give their targets an ultimatum — either drop everything in that instant or no makeover. The backstories and the reactions to the reveals are as much fun as the makeovers themselves,” Twentieth TV prexy-CEO Bob Cook said.
