Franklin preps final tour

Dates not set as Queen of Soul also preps album

Aretha Franklin fans will get a chance to show their respect in person this spring when the Queen of Soul embarks on what she says will be her last tour.

Tentatively titled “Aretha Sings Her Musical History,” the live outing will precede the release of Franklin’s first album of new material in more than five years, due out this fall on the singer’s longtime label, Arista Records.

Dates have not been announced, but Franklin has committed through the summer and early autumn. She’ll be auditioning dancers for the tour in open sessions beginning next month in Detroit.
