Jive/Zomba Records has named Canadian industry vet Laura Bartlett as senior vice president of its international division, based in New York and reporting to Jive prexy Barry Weiss.
Exec’s new duties will include oversight of marketing and promotion at the international level, as well as coordinating efforts with Jive/Zomba’s U.K. arm and the foreign-territory offices of the label’s parent group, BMG.
Stuart Watson, the current head of the Zomba Intl. Record Group, will remain in his post until the end of the year to smooth the transition.
Bartlett launched Zomba Records’ Canadian unit when she signed on with the company in 1999, and has since overseen all day-to-day operations. Before joining the company, she was senior VP at Universal Music Canada. She also spent 13 years at Virgin Music Canada, where she eventually rose to the title of VP/general manager.
