Jason Patric is set to join Ashley Judd in the Broadway revival of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” taking the stage in October. Patric will play Brick.

Judd committed to playing Maggie the Cat earlier this year when producer Bill Kenwright and director Anthony Page made plans to transport the Tennessee Williams play to Broadway. London version starred Frances O’Connor, Brendan Fraser and Ned Beatty, the latter as Big Daddy.

Patric takes the role as he continues the second act of his career. Expected to be a big star after “Flatliners,” his career nearly bottomed out after “Speed 2.” He became more selective and got positive reviews for playing a traumatized cop who returns to the force to solve another cop’s murder in “Narc.” He then got the role of Jim Bowie in “The Alamo,” a John Lee Hancock-directed historical drama that Disney will open Christmastime.
