Sevigny aboard Allen pic

Thesp will join Ryder, Downey Jr. in Searchlight project

HOLLYWOOD — Chloe Sevigny is in negotiations to join Woody Allen’s new untitled pic at Fox Searchlight.

Plot details, like those of every Allen movie before it, are being kept mum by the filmmaker, but Sevigny will star alongside Winona Ryder and Robert Downey Jr. (Daily Variety, July 24)

Sevigny next appears in the Michael Alig biopic “Party Monster,” unspooling in September, and in Olivier Assayas’ “Demonlover,” also out next month.

Sevigny, who also is starring in the upcoming Lions Gate release “Shattered Glass,” about disgraced New Republic journo Stephen Glass, just wrapped AIDS drama “Three Needles” for ThinkFilm and helmer Thom Fitzgerald.

Allen’s distrib deal with Fox Searchlight (Daily Variety, June 16) is for only one pic. Deal reps the first time in a decade that all worldwide territories on an Allen film will be handled by one company.

His last four movies — “Small Time Crooks,” “Curse of the Jade Scorpion,” “Hollywood Ending” and the upcoming “Anything Else” — were backed in part and distribbed domestically by DreamWorks.

Sevigny was repped in the Allen deal by Endeavor and Brillstein-Grey.
