Pariah warms to Nieman pic

HOLLYWOOD — Tyro writer-director Damian Nieman has set up his next pic, “A Cold Read,” with Gavin Polone’s Pariah production shingle.

Nieman just wrapped shooting on his first film, “Shade,” starring Sylvester Stallone and Thandie Newton and set in the world of poker hustlers working the clubs and martini bars of Los Angeles.

Returning to the theme of men on the make, “A Cold Read” concerns a confidence man who poses as a psychic medium but slowly begins to believe he may actually have the gift of conversing with the dead.

Nieman, repped in the deal by Metropolitan Talent Agency, wrote and will direct “Cold.”
