HOLLYWOOD — Paramount Pictures has acquired the English-language remake rights to Italian comedy “Tre Moglie” (Three Wives) for Tollin/Robbins to produce.
Original film, released in 2001, revolved around three wives trying to track down their spouses after the husbands pull a bank heist. The women, who come from varied backgrounds, make unlikely companions as they trail their errant hubbies around the world.
Original was directed by Marco Risi and produced by Sorpasso Films. Deal was negotiated on behalf of the producers by Paul Corvino, prexy of Intra Films.
Project will be exec produced by Amanda Klein and Michael Nash of Primal Pictures. Tollin/Robbins, which has a first-look deal at Par, is in final negotiations to produce “Fever Pitch” for Fox 2000 with Robbins directing; the studio recently acquired rights to an upcoming book about a Pennsylvania high school prom for Tollin/Robbins and MTV to produce.
