M’max jumps to Zenith for ad buying duties

Account worth roughly $200 mil per year

In a bid for more global advertising flexibility, Miramax Films has replaced Santa Monica-based media buyer Palisades Media Group in favor of Zenith Media to handle its ad buying chores.

The Gotham-based ad buying agency Zenith had snagged the studio’s print and TV buying and planning account. The account is believed to be worth roughly $200 million a year.

Zenith, part of the Publicis Group, came within a hair of securing a similar $750 million contract with Disney last year.

Miramax has worked with Palisades since 1996, but sources say shifting the account to Zenith was not an issue of quality. Rather, Miramax believes Zenith, with its global ad buying network, can offer the master marketeer broader scope. Miramax and Zenith had previously worked on some international-related projects together.
