L.A.-based exec will report to prexy Fredericks

HOLLYWOOD — Former TriStar and Universal exec Mark Kristol has been appointed to head a new entertainment services unit at marketing group TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

Based in L.A., Kristol will carry the title of chief operating officer and report to TNSMI/CMR prexy Steve Fredericks.

“Mark is well-known and respected in the entertainment industry,” Fredericks said. “His experience, expertise and creative drive make him uniquely suited to lead the entertainment services group.”

Kristol worked as senior VP of media research at TriStar Pictures for 10 years until 1994, when he moved to a post at U overseeing specialty film operations. He began his professional career with ad agency Diener/Hauser/Bates, where he provided services for Paramount and RKO Century Warner Theaters.

Gotham-based TNSMI/CMR offers strategic advertising and marketing services to clients in a range of business segments.

Acquired by CMR in 2001

Founded in 1986, TNSMI was acquired two years ago by global marketing company CMR. Its activities include tracking services for the film and TV industry.

“My goal is to leverage the company’s existing assets and relationships and to extend (those) into other sectors of the entertainment industry that we’re currently not servicing,” Kristol said.
