TORONTO — Imax Corp. has inked a deal with EuroPalaces to open a new Imax 3D theater at the Disneyland Resort Paris.
“It is a very exciting opportunity for Imax to be able to work with such a notable operator and to be located at such a renowned destination venue,” said co-chairman and co-CEOs Rich Gelfond and Brad Wechsler.
The new theater in Disney Village will be a central showcase for Imax DMR films — live-action 35mm movies that are digitally re-mastered using Imax technology for the big-big screen.
By its skedded opening June 2004, there will by 46 Imax theaters operating in Europe. EuroPalaces is the entity formed by the recent merger of Gaumont and Pathe cinemas.
