‘Gangs,’ ‘Perdition’ top Golden Reel nods

'CSI,' 'ER,' 'Fastlane,' 'John Doe' lead TV contenders

“Gangs of New York” and “Road to Perdition” nabbed three noms each from the Motion Picture Sound Editors, which will present its Golden Reel Awards at the Century Plaza Hotel March 22 during the group’s 50th annual awards banquet.

Kudos honor achievements in sound editing for film and television.

“Gangs” and “Perdition” were both recognized in the sound effects/Foley, dialogue/ADR and music categories.

Toons “Ice Age,” “Lilo and Stitch” and “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” received nominations in both animated feature categories. And on the TV front, “CSI,” “ER,” “Fastlane,” “John Doe,” “Third Watch” and “American Dreams” took two noms each.
