Fest vet turns to the Right

Fitzgerald's company will distrib pix through partners

HOLLYWOOD — Festival veteran and producer Jon Fitzgerald has launched Right Angle Studios, a production and distribution company that will offer consulting services in association with Peter Belsito and Sydney Levine’s Film Finders.

Right Angle will tailor festival strategies for filmmaker clients, including marketing support as well as detailed fest and contact information.

Right Angle will also distribute projects through partners, including digital exhib Digital Cinema Solutions, and will assist selected filmmakers in securing theatrical distribution through a partnership with Marc and Marla Halperin’s Magic Lamp Releasing.

Previous Magic Lamp projects include “Scratch,” “Amy’s Orgasm” and “Sex & Lucia.”

The Right Angle advisory committee includes Belsito, Levine, Apollo Cinema’s Carol Crowe, producer reps Jonathan Dana and Jeff Dowd, attorney Mark Litwak, publicist Mark Pogachefsky, Digital Cinema Solutions’ Jim Steele and Without a Box’s David Strauss.

Fitzgerald was a co-founder of Slamdance and was the director of both the AFI Los Angeles and Santa Barbara film festivals. He also served as VP programming at Ifilm. He will continue to operate his Marine Street Films, which has set up “Criminal Procedure” with Montecito Picture Co.
