Basinger, Rogers opening the ‘Door’

Pic set in Hamptons started shooting March 31

This article was corrected on April 17, 2003.

Kim Basinger, Mimi Rogers and Bijou Phillips have joined lead Jeff Bridges in “The Door in the Floor,” writer-director Tod Williams’ adaptation for Focus Features of the John Irving bestseller, “A Widow For One Year.”

Shooting started March 31 in and around the Hamptons, with Ted Hope and Anne Carey producing for This is That shingle along with Revere Pictures co-founder Michael Corrente. Roger Marino (also a Revere co-founder) and Amy J. Kaufman serve as exec producers, with Marisa Polvino of Revere as co-producer.

Formed in 2002 by former Good Machine producers Hope, Anthony Bregman and Carey, This is That has an overall deal at Focus, which will release the pic as a joint presentation with independent production and development stable Revere.

Complexities of love

Set in a privileged East Hampton beach community, the story explores the complexities of love during one pivotal summer in the lives of a celebrated children’s author (Bridges) and his wife (Basinger). Jon Foster and Elle Fanning complete the cast.

Though DC Film’s 2016 tentpole “Suicide Squad” took a critical bashing at the time, filmgoers quickly took a liking to Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn. “Birds of Prey” gives the [...]
