The inaugural East Village Film Festival will unspool Aug. 20-26.
“EV/DV,” 11 five-minute digital vid portraits of the East Village created for the fest, will unspool, including shorts by Steve Buscemi and Michael Almereyda.
Other preems will include “Excavating Trevor Mead,” a doc about the performance artist, and “The Morrison Project,” Amy Williams’ portrait of a counter-culture family in the 1970s.
Opening-night event will feature Luis de la Reguera’s “Rockets Redglare!”
Also screening will be Charles Busch’s camp-melodrama “Die Mommie, Die!” as well as Michael Winterbottom’s “In this World,” which follows two Afghans on a trek through the Middle East and Europe.
