Cinema org predicts 3% rise over 2002 by year's end

U.K. cinema admissions have continued their slump, with just 12.4 million tickets sold in April, down 6.2% from last year. It’s the third successive month that admissions have fallen below their 2002 level.

The Cinema Advertising Assn., which publishes the figures, is predicting U.K. admissions will reach 182 million in 2003, 3% over 2002. April’s best performer was “Johnny English,” which grossed $22.7 million.
