Icelandic first-time helmer Dagur Kari nabbed the Transylvanian Trophy for his debut pic “Noi the Albino,” at the second Transylvanian Intl. Film Fest, which wrapped Saturday.

The pic, about an albino boy desperate to escape his remote Icelandic fishing village, also scooped the Romanian Critics Award. “Noi” has already won the Intl. Critics Prize at Gothenburg 2003.

The Romanian fest, which opened with “City Of God” and closed with “The Hours”, showcased nine local pics in the Romanian Days section. The fest attracted 15,000 cinemagoers.
