Amy Madigan is set to join Ed Harris, Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel and Amelia Warner in “Winter Passing,” the Stratus-financed film that was written and will be directed in New York next month by Adam Rapp.
Madigan plays a theater actress who has become a surrogate mother for a young woman who returns home to her estranged father and the unusual group of people who have been living with him. Harris plays the father. “Winter Passing” becomes the fifth time that Madigan will have made a film with her husband, Harris.
They previously did the Harris-directed “Pollock” as well as “Shot in the Heart,” “The Laramie Project” and “Just a Dream.” Madigan is starring in the new HBO series “Carnivale.”
“The addition of Amy rounds out a terrific ensemble,” said financier Bob Yari, who’s exec producing with Mark Gordon and Laura Bickford. Jennifer Dana and David Koplan are producing.
