Veteran Dutch director Fons Rademakers will be in the spotlight at the 23rd Dutch Film Festival’s annual sidebar retrospective In the Picture.

Rademakers has lensed more than 20 films including the 1986 wartime drama “The Attack,” which won an Oscar for foreign-language pic.

Best known for films such as “Max Havelaar,” “The Spitting Image” and “Mira,” the 83-year-old Rademakers is among a small group of Dutch direc-tors who have crossed over internationally. He worked as a director and actor in legit theater prior to beginning his film career in 1955.

Fest unspools in Utrecht Sept. 24-Oct. 3.
