Alicia Silverstone has signed to star opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini and Seth Green in Warner Bros.’ “Scooby Doo” sequel for helmer Raja Gosnell.
Silverstone will play Heather, a relentless reporter who is aided by museum curator Patrick (Green). Pic, penned by James Gunn, is being produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle of Mosaic Media. Pic started shooting last week in Vancouver and will be released Stateside March 26, 2004.
Silverstone, repped by Innovative Artists and manager Carolyn Kessler, first rose to fame in Paramount’s comedy “Clueless.”
Actress recently completed a long run on Broadway in “The Graduate” opposite Kathleen Turner and Jason Biggs and also stars in the NBC drama pilot “Miss Match,” from exec producers Darren Star, Jeff Rake, Brian Grazer and David Nevins.
She also is executive producing and starring as the voice on ABC Family’s “Braceface.”
