Paramount Pictures has signed veteran production exec Michael Aguilar and scribe Dean Georgaris to a two-year, first-look production deal.
Nonexclusive pact with the yet-to-be-named shingle includes an option for a third year. It also calls for Georgaris to script a mutually agreed upon project.
Aguilar most recently served as prexy of production at the Donners Co. He was also a director of creative affairs at Paramount and director of development at RKO Pictures.
Georgaris has penned two key Par projects recently — “Paycheck,” currently shooting in Vancouver with John Woo directing Ben Affleck, and Angelina Jolie starrer “Lara Croft and the Cradle of Life: Tomb Raider 2,” which opens next month. He also wrote the first draft of Par’s remake of “The Manchurian Candidate” for helmer Jonathan Demme.
Earlier this year, Fox 2000 purchased Yann Martel’s novel “Life of Pi” for the screenwriter to adapt.
