Outfest hands out Screen Idol Awards

Short Take

Queen Latifah (“Chicago”), Dennis Quaid (“Far From Heaven”), Shane Meier (“The Matthew Shepard Story”) and Meryl Streep (“The Hours”) are the winners of Outfest‘s third annual Screen Idol Awards. Kudos honor performances in a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered role in a feature film or movie for television during the 2002 calendar year. Outfest members vote for their favorite performances and the top five vote-getters in each of four categories are then voted on by the general public at www.outfest.org.
