This article was corrected on October 20, 2003.

Odd Lot Entertainment has acquired the spec “Hooligans,” based on the work of British novelist and journalist Dougie Brimson. Film will be the first financed through Odd Lot Capital, Odd Lot Entertainment’s private equity fund.

“Hooligans” centers on a wrongfully expelled Harvard undergrad who moves to London and befriends a young man who introduces him to the violent underworld of football hooliganism.

Lexi Alexander will direct the pic, written by Brimson, Josh Shelov and Alexander.

Odd Lot’s Gigi Pritzker, Deborah Del Prete and Patrick Aluise will produce the pic, with plans to begin shooting in the spring.

Alexander’s short “Johnny Flynton” was nominated for a 2003 Academy Award.

Brimson is the author of 10 books about British soccer and the culture that surrounds it including “Barmy Army” and “The Crew.”
