Myriad Pictures has picked up worldwide distribution excluding Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea to the Australian comedy/thriller “Under the Radar.”
Pic, directed by Evan Clarry and produced by Chris Brown and Chris Fitchett of Pictures in Paradise follows on from the trio’s first pic “Blurred.”
“Radar,” the debut script penned by Steve Pratt, was discovered by Brown and Fitchett through a script development program set up by Pictures in Paradise and the Pacific Film & Television Commission.
Pic stars Nathan Phillips, Steady Eddy and Clayton Watson. Australian print and TV model Chloe Maxwell makes her film debut with pic.
“Radar” is the story of a mismatched group of four twentysomethings who end up traveling to the coast together and get caught in the crossfire between two rival street gangs.
“This is another example of the great films coming out of Australia recently and shows that Australian comedies are finally beginning to get the recognition they deserve on the international stage,” says Myriad Pictures prexy Kirk D’Amico.
