Mother Teresa on Spice, Lux slate

Pic to begin lensing next month with Costa at the helm

A bio of Mother Teresa will kick off a six-pic $80 million co-venture between Blue Spice Films and Italo producer Lux Vide.

Helmed by Fabrizio Costa and budgeted at $15 million, film is due to roll next month in Sri Lanka.

Blue Spice is a joint venture between the U.K.’s Spice Factory and Blue Star Movies.

Spice Factory principal Michael Cowan tells Variety that all six titles planned in the Lux alliance will be bios. The next project from that banner will be “Nero,” which is slated to shoot in September.

Blue Spice aims to produce four or five films a year as U.K.-Italian co-prods, all shot in English.
