April Blair has been hired to adapt the Janet Evanovich novel “One for the Money” at Columbia Pictures.
Novel follows an unemployed lingerie buyer whose only chance out of her financial pickle is to work for her cousin’s bail-bond business. Her first assignment is to collect the $10,000 bond forfeited on a murder suspect, who turns out to be the same rogue who took her virginity in high school.
Produced by Wendy Finerman (“Drumline”), pic has attracted the interest of the Sony-based Jennifer Lopez.
The Endeavor- and Benderspink-repped Blair most recently penned “Maj. Movie Star” for Warner Bros. — a tyro comedy effort that netted the scribe $300,000 against $600,000. That pic is being produced by Billy Gerber and Denise Di Novi.
Blair also has set up her pic “Operation: Spy Girl” at U with former Jersey Films principals Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg.
