Jennifer Lopez has signed with CAA.
The move followed her abrupt exit from Endeavor and from Handprint, where she parted company with longtime manager Benny Medina. The drama played out Monday evening (Daily Variety, June 9).
Lopez becomes the latest in a growing line of A-list actresses to move to the agency, which also recently signed Julia Roberts. The town was buzzing about Lopez’s move, particularly her decision to split with Medina, who over the past five years guided her to stardom and helped her transition to music.
Endeavor issued a statement Monday acknowledging Lopez’s exit and saying the agency could not work with Medina. He would not comment on specific reasons for the exit.
“The five years that I have spent with Jennifer have been some of the most creative and productive of my life,” Medina said. “I look back on what we accomplished together with a great deal of pride and satisfaction.”
Medina also shrugged off any hint of discord with Endeavor, saying, “Handprint continues to enjoy a very productive relationship with Endeavor as we continue to share many clients and business together. I wish Jennifer continued happiness and success in all of her pursuits.”
