Christopher Lambert has signed to star in Bauer Martinez Studios’ period thriller “Day of Wrath” while Dominique Swain has joined “Out of Season,” the suspense thriller starring Dennis Hopper and Gina Gershon.
Lambert will star in the $12 million “Wrath,” to be directed by Adrian Rudomin for producers Philippe Martinez and Alan Latham. Antony Blakey and Sam Sleiman are exec producers.
Set in Spain during the Inquisition, story concerns the sheriff of a provincial town who must find the answers to a series of bizarre murders before the whole town is condemned.
“Season,” which started shooting last week in Bucharest, is being directed by Jevon O’Neill and produced by Kim Leggatt for Lucky 7 Prods., the U.K. production subsidiary of Bauer Martinez Studios.
Bauer Martinez has also closed a slew of territorial sales on its Jean-Claude Van Damme pic “After Death” and on a number of other titles.
“Death” has been sold to Gaga in Japan, American Film & Video for Spain and Portugal, Polar Star for Latin America excluding Mexico, Eagle Films for the Middle East and Grupo Fast Film for Brazil among other territories.
Pic, budgeted at $20 million, will start shooting on location in July.
“Season,” “Wrath,” “Digital Jesus” and “It Waits” have been sold to Russia, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Greece and the Middle East. “Modigliani” has been sold to Russia, Indonesia, Greece and Middle East; “Cover Play,” to Russia Indonesia and Czech Republic; and “Citizen Verdict” to Russia and Indonesia; and “The Piano Player” to Indonesia.
