Hyde Park Entertainment has acquired Richard Outten’s action-adventure pitch “The Hidden Kingdom.”
Story follows a Hong Kong-born hero who finds stolen cultural treasures and returns them to their rightful owners. When his father steals a relic, he must embark upon a quest to recover the artifact and travel across India in search of the keys that lead to the mythical kingdom of Shambhala.
Outten will write the script, with Hyde Park principal Ashok Amritraj and president Jon Jashni producing.
At Paramount Pictures, Outten is developing “Global P.D.,” an actioner about a U.N.-backed law enforcement body, with Gale Anne Hurd producing. He recently completed work on his first novel, “The Black Order,” in which James Bond creator and Her Majesty’s Secret Service member Ian Fleming is pitted against the Nazis and British occultist Aleister Crowley.
Hyde Park most recently released “Bringing Down the House” for Touchstone Pictures.
