Jon Berg and Todd Komarnicki, partners at the Guy Walks Into a Bar film/TV production shingle, have sold corporate comedy feature pitch “The Retreat” to New Line.

Berg generated the idea and brought the project to the studio after collaborating with New Line on “Elf,” the Will Ferrell comedy directed by Jon Favreau and set for release in November.

Berg and Komarnicki will produce “The Retreat” through their shingle.

David Dorfman, who penned “Anger Management,” is in negotiations to write the script. Dorfman’s manager John Jacobs will exec produce.

Story centers on a newly hired exec who goes to his first company retreat on his second day at the job. During the weekend, odd occurrences befall him until he finds he’s the target of sabotage by a disgruntled employee who wanted the post.

New Line’s Cale Boyter and Richard Brenner are overseeing the project.
