Echo Lake Prods. will produce “Make Somebody Happy,” the next feature from writer-director Raymond De Felitta, who won the Sundance Audience Award three years ago with “Two Family House.”

Pic, which is out to cast, will be produced by Echo Lake principals Doug Mankoff and Andrew Spaulding.
“Raymond is a terrific storyteller,” Mankoff said. “He’s written a smart, entertaining script that speaks to everyone who has ever found family life to be challenging.”
De Felitta, repped by Paradigm and Exile Entertainment, also wrote and directed “Cafe Society,” which preemed at Cannes in 1995.
Echo Lake, which finances its features through a private equity fund, has produced and financed such pics as “Things Behind the Sun,” “Thirteen Conversations About One Thing” and “Levity.” Shingle is developing “Bee-Luther-Hatchee,” a play by Thomas Gibbons, which Beeban Kidron plans to direct, and a remake of the 1953 pic “Salt of the Earth,” written and directed by David Riker.
