U.S. management and production entity Handprint Entertainment will be the exclusive U.S. rep for selected titles from the North American production slate of U.K. producers Sam Taylor and Mike Downey.
Pics will be produced through their shingle F&ME. Downey is managing director, while Taylor is head of production. First pic under the pact will be “No One Thinks of Greenland,” which Brit writer John Paul Chapple has adapted from John Griesemer’s novel.
“With more and more of our work taking place on the other side of the Atlantic, our need for a year-round presence looking after our interests not only with the U.S. majors but also with the major agencies has become inevitable and a commercial and creative necessity,” says Downey.
“Handprint Entertainment . . . manages some of the biggest and hottest talent today, including Jennifer Lopez,” he adds. “Coupled with the production and financing capabilities of both of our companies, I am confident that our close association together will lead to tremendous future success for all.”
Adds Jane Berliner, head of production for Handprint: “I’m certain we can help pave the way in establishing a higher profile for them in the U.S., among talent both in front of and behind the camera.”
