Spanish production and sales company Dolores Pictures has sold North American rights on sci-fi thriller “Stranded” to DEJ Prods., Blockbuster’s film acquisition/distribution shingle.
Universal has licensed Italy on the English-lingo, Mars-set drama directed by Spanish actress-helmer Luna and toplining Vincent Gallo, Maria de Madeiros and Joaquim de Almeida.
Dolores prexy Jose Magan has also clinched a raft of territory deals — 38 to date — on the company’s latest production, “Whore,” which stars Daryl Hannah and Denise Richards and is also directed by Luna.
Now in post, in recent larger deals pic has sold to 97 Film for France and Benelux, Tiberius Film for Germany, Lusomundo/Universal in Portugal, Thailand’s New World Pics, and Singapore’s Shaw Renters.
Investacommerce took Eastern Europe and Russia earlier this year on “Whore,” which turns on the sex business.
Dolores will be screening a 15-minute promo reel of “Whore” at Cannes.
