The shingle has optioned Bill Minutaglio’s book “City on Fire: The Forgotten Disaster That Devastated a Town and Ignited a Landmark Legal Battle.” It’s a detailed portrait of the coastal town, which was virtually leveled by the explosion of two ships carrying a huge cargo of ammonium nitrate. Close to 700 people died.
The catastrophe’s survivors successfully sued the government for negligence.

Minutaglio, repped by Writers & Artists and DHS Literary, is also the author of “First Son: George W. Bush and the Bush Family Dynasty.”
