Myriad Pictures has completed multiple territorial sales on horror pic “Jeepers Creepers 2,” the sequel to the United Artists and American Zoetrope’s hit “Jeepers Creepers.”
MGM/UA will release the pic in the U.S. in August and has acquired four other territories: Japan, Italy, France and Australia.
German distrib Kinowelt has bought film for Germany through its recently re-launched distribution arm Kinowelt Filmverleih. Pathe will release pic in the U.K.; Filmax has acquired rights for Spain.
Other territories include RCV Entertainment for Benelux, Warner/Nu Metro for South Africa, Egmont for Scandinavia, Zodiac for Poland, Prooptiki for Greece, Panorama Distributions for Hong Kong, LNK for Portugal, Gussi for Latin America, Nontanund for Thailand, Suraya for Malaysia, PT Amero Mitra for Indonesia, Myndform for Iceland, Italia Films for the Middle East. A pay TV deal has also been inked with Star TV for Asia.
“The interest in this film internationally has been significant, with some intense competition between distributors taking place in a number of territories,” says Myriad Pictures prexy Kirk D’Amico. “We are very pleased to have closed a deal with Rainer and Michael Koelmel at Kinowelt and look forward to having them back as theatrical distributors.”
