Castle Rock awaits the ‘Second Coming’

Script of Christ clone pic due this summer

In a six-figure deal, Warner Bros.-based Castle Rock Pictures has picked up the supernatural thriller pitch “Second Coming.”

Ian Corson is penning the script, loosely based on an original story idea by James Woods about a recently paroled thief who finds himself entrusted with guarding a boy believed to be a clone of Jesus Christ.

Castle Rock will produce pic. Corson will likely have a first draft of the script sometime this summer.

Corson pitched the project to Castle Rock Pictures prexy Liz Glotzer and director of development Gaylyn Fraiche, who will oversee it for the company.

Corson, repped by Evolution, Eric Feig and the Gersh Agency, recently sold the pitch “Starting Five” to Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Paramount Pictures. Corson is co-writing with Mark Bacci; story centers on an NBA all-star who falls from grace and winds up in prison. Once there, he has the chance to redeem himself by putting together a group of inmates to play his former NBA team.
