WNBA gets Real with hoops online

The Women’s National Basketball Assn. has signed a multiyear deal with RealNetworks under which the latter will Webcast basketball games. The league’s first-ever Webcast just happened May 31.

Under the deal, at least 10 more games will be Webcast live on WNBA.com as part of the league’s new subscription service, WNBA Broadband Season Pass.

Other material from the NBA (which owns the WNBA) and the WNBA will appear on Real’s RealOne SuperPass online subscription service.
