Hypnotic unveils shorts

Finalists compete for $1 mil prod'n deal

NEW YORK — Gotham-based indie film/branded entertainment firm Hypnotic officially premiered 10 shorts produced for its Chrysler Million-Dollar Film Festival on the Internet Friday.

Five of the pics were selected as finalists last month and will compete for the grand prize — a $1 million production deal to make a feature with Hypnotic and distrib Universal. Each of the five will develop a production package on the U lot, then travel to Toronto in September to pitch it.

Hypnotic last month cut a deal with HBO to distribute the finalists’ five shorts on cabler Cinemax.
