Wolfe Video, which distributes exclusively gay and lesbian titles, will enter the domestic theatrical distribution market with Marco Filiberti’s “A Little More Than a Year Ago.” An early 2004 release is planned.
Wolfe also has acquired U.S. rights to Brad Fraser’s “Leaving Metropolis,” which plays Monday and Tuesday at Outfest in Los Angeles. Film consultant Orly Ravid heads Wolfe’s theatrical distribution efforts.
The Italian-language “A Little More Than a Year Ago” was written and directed by Filiberti, who also stars as an Italian gay porn star who reconciles with his family at his father’s funeral. Wolfe president Maria Lynn, Ravid and Adriana Chiesa of Adriana Chiesa Enterprises brokered the deal.
“A Little More Than a Year Ago” is the English translation of the film’s original title; Wolfe likely will release the film theatrically under a new title.
“Leaving Metropolis” is the debut feature from Fraser, who wrote Denys Arcand’s “Love and Human Remains.”
