‘Wing’ duo on Warner DVD

First season disc includes gag reel, making-of docus

Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme are coming back to “The West Wing” this fall after all — giving audio commentaries on episodes from the first season being released on DVD by Warner Home Video Nov. 18.

Creator Sorkin and director Schlamme comment on five of the 22 episodes in the four-disc set “The West Wing: The Complete First Season,” priced at $59.98. The episodes include the pilot, “What Kind of Day Has It Been,” “Take This Sabbath Day,” “In Excelsis Deo” (also commenting is co-exec producer-director Alex Graves) and “Celestial Navigation” (with co-exec producer-director Chris Misiano).

Other extra features include deleted scenes, a gag reel of outtakes and bloopers, behind-the-scenes footage, cast and crew interviews, making-of documentaries “The Primaries” and “The West Wing Inauguration” and outtakes from cast and producer interviews.

Last week Bravo began running first-season episodes of “The West Wing” each weeknight.
