Pic made $215 mil domestically; disc has 11 featurettes

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will unleash “X2: X-Men United” on Nov. 25 in a double-disc special edition DVD priced at $29.98 and including several deleted scenes.

The studio will launch its biggest marketing campaign of the year for the DVD of the movie that grossed $215 million at the domestic box office.

The original “X-Men” DVD and VHS sold 6.1 million units during its initial release in 2000. The studio released a special DVD edition of that title called “X-Men 1.5” earlier this year.

The “X2” DVD will include a commentary by director Bryan Singer and cinematographer Tom Sigel and a second commentary with writers and producers. Also included are 11 new featurettes including a behind-the-scenes look at the Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike fight rehearsal, an interactive multi-angle scene of Nightcrawler’s opening attack on the President, and 11 deleted/extended scenes.

The VHS version, priced at $22.98, will include four deleted scenes.
