Media and entertainment investment firm ZelnickMedia has tapped Viva founder and Time Warner vet Stanley Fertig as senior vice president of acquisitions and business development for its Japan-based music unit Columbia Music Entertainment.Fertig, who reports directly to ZelnickMedia founder and CME chairman and chief exec Strauss Zelnick, will head up acquisitions and biz development worldwide for the company, which controls the Savoy Jazz catalog and 32 Records in the U.S., as well as its Japanese holdings. Exec was most recently the founder of SDCi Limited, a European business-services firm, which he later sold to Media Content PLC, where he was chief financial officer. Prior to that, he worked for the Warner Music Group for four years, most recently as senior veep of international business development.
