MIAMI — Venezuelan broadcaster RCTV is buying 11 feature films and a smaller package of Christmas specials from Latin American distrib Salsa Entertainment.
Salsa has also sold pre-school series “Salty’s Lighthouse” and a Christmas specials package to Telemundo in Puerto Rico.
Nicaraguan broadcaster Televicentro has also acquired four animated series: “Cramp Twins” from TV-Loonland, Sunbow Entertainment and Cartoon Network UK; Decode Entertainment’s “Angela Anaconda”; Jim Henson Productions’ “Mopatop’s Shop” and Winchester Entertainment’s “Jellabies.”
In Honduras, Salsa has sold children’s series “Clifford” and “Generation O” to Compania Televisora.
And Bolivision of Bolivia has acquired sci-fi series “Farscape,” series II and III.
Salsa noted the recent sales followed its Miami expansion. The company moved shop this January after it was acquired by TV-Loonland in October 2000.
